The Council for International Exchange of Scholars announces its 2000-2001
competition for its Fulbright Scholars Awards for U.S. Faculty and
Professionals.  Opportunities for lecturing or advanced research in nearly
130 countries are available to college and university faculty, and
professonals outside academe.  Support is provided for a  period of up to
one academic year and monthly stipends range from $1700 to $2600.  In
addition to the stipend, a monthly maintenance allowance is provided to
cover living expenses.  Basic requirements are U.S. citizenship and the
Ph.D. (or comparable professional qualifications).

The deadline for receipt of applications for lecturing or research awards
is August 1, 1999.

A number of UTC faculty have received Fulbright awards in recent years.  If
you are interested in applying, please contact the Office of Grants and
Program Review at extension 4431 for information and materials.
