Dear Colleagues and Students,

Thanks to all of you who were able to make it to  Professor Plywaczewski's lecture on "Democratization aand Crime in Central Europe." Special thanks to Provost John Friedl who had committed himself to attend, but it turned out that I gave a wrong date; and on the correct date, he had to attend a meeting of Council of College Deans.

I have received emails from some of our students indicating their appreciation of the lecture and the lecturer's style of communication with the audience.
