Anth 331 Chinese Society and Culture (3 hrs)

Prof. Zibin Guo
As one of the largest countries and oldest civilizations in the world,
China has become increasingly involved and played an important role in
contemporary global economic, cultural and political affairs.
This course provides a general introduction of the culture and social
structure of China. Topics of discussions include the origin of the Chinese
culture, family structure, customs, social and political structures,
religion, ideology, and tradition vs. modernization.
Prerequisite: Anthropology 208, or approval of instructor.
