Ed:

I think you were quite right NOT to put John Kerry and Will Rogers, a
humorist, in the same context.

I would make a joke about Kerry, Pavarotti, and "expensive ways that you and
hundreds of others can fall asleep," since I have heard a Kerry speech, but
I like opera, and, dear Lord, there may actually be people out there who
like John Kerry!

As for Bush and Garcia, I could remind you that the Dead had a song called
"Hell in a Bucket," and that their followers, let's say, exerted great
efforts to remain detached from reality. But, then again, there may be
Republicans in tie-dye whom I don't want to offend.

This near bi-partisan shot at politics and politicians was brought to you by
yours truly,
Matthew Guy

At which point I am forced to ask; "is there any other context where
Jerry Garcia and George W. Bush would be mentioned, together -
politely?" <please note big grin and tongue firmly in cheek. Thanks
Ed, I enjoyed that chuckle.>
