Lifeguarding Recertification

Instructor: Mark Swafford

This course will allow previously certified lifeguards to become recertified
for the upcoming summer season.  This class will include a written and a
skills test.  Prerequisites: unexpired Red Cross lifeguard card and CPR
Professional Rescuer card.

your assets?  This course will answer these questions and explain the six
elements of an effective estate plan.

Chattanooga in the Civil War

Instructor: Daryl Black, Ph.D.

This discussion based class will survey the region's Civil War history from
a variety of perspectives including an examination of East Tennessee's
economic, political, and social history in the years leading up to the war,
analysis of the military campaigns that affected the area, the ways the war
affected the lives of the people living in the regions, and the long-term
impact the war had on the city and surrounding area.  Students are
encouraged to read Todd Goce's Mountain Rebels, followed by Steven
Woodworth's Six Armies in Tennessee, and finish with Steve Ash's When the
Yankees Came.
