I have a MS Word 97 problem and wonder if there is someone on campus who
can help, perhaps writing a program to do what needs to be done (and yes,
I'll pay...). I have compiled a lengthy annotated bibliography. Each of
about 2600 entries is automatically numbered, and renumbered if I add or
delete. With each entry I have marked the author name for an index. MS Word
generates an index referencing the page number on which the entry appears.
My publisher wants the index to reference the entry number (or page and
entry number). All of my efforts to date to get Word 97 to do this have
failed, and one of the folks at CECA suggested that a VBA script (a macro?)
could be written to solve my problem. Can anyone on campus do this? A
faculty member, grad student, or advanced undergrad? Please reply off Raven
to me.
Thanks
