Over the next two weeks, three candidates for the Dean of the Lupton
Library will visit campus.
The first candidate, Mr. Donald R. Smith, will meet with the Department
Heads and Faculty on Thursday, February 12, 2004, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in
the Raccoon Mt. Room in the U.C.
Mr. Smith will do a brief presentation on "Providing Excellent Library
Services In Challenging Budgetary Times". This will be an open meeting and
all UTC Faculty and Staff are encouraged to attend.
Donald Smith is currently the Dean of the Library at the University of
Louisiana at Monroe where he has served since 1996. He has earned a
masters in Library Science from the University of Missouri and a masters in
Instructional Technology from Southern Illinois University at
Edwardsville. His curriculum vita is available at the Lupton Library
and/or the Provost Office.
Details will be forthcoming about the next candidates.
