UTCOnline (Blackboard)

NOTE: Assign and Combine forms entered by 3:30 PM today will be processed by
this evening. Forms entered after 3:30 PM today will be processed by the
evening of Monday, January 8.

## "Where are my classes?"

As was announced on December 19, 2006 to the UTCInfo listserv, Spring 2007
Classes were assigned (to the best of our ability). As ASIS does not provide
us with a list of classes containing a UTCID field for the professor,
classes are NOT automatically assigned. Instead they must be assigned by a
search and replace process that often misses people.

If you have not been assigned to your classes, you MUST use the following
form to request that classes be assigned to you:

http://zog.utc.edu/~utconlin/Assign.php

This form is always linked from:

http://utconline.utc.edu

and from the "UTC Faculty and Staff" tab in Blackboard.

## Combines, Course Coordinators, Etc.

You will need to fill out a form for ALL Assigns, Combines, and Course
Coordinator Assigns.

Links to the forms are available:

1. http://utconline.utc.edu
2. Within UTCOnline (Blackboard) on the "UTC Faculty and Staff" Tab

## Confirmation Email

CONFIRMATION EMAIL: After you fill out any form, you will receive a
confirmation email. You MUST respond to this email in order for your form to
be processed.

Most forms will be processed 24 to 48 hours after they are CONFIRMED. Forms
entered by 3:30 PM today will be processed by this evening. Forms entered
after 3:30 PM today will be processed by Monday evening.

## "Why is my class unavailable?" or "My students cannot get into the
class!"

Courses are created in UTCOnline as UNAVAILABLE. This means that only the
instructor(s) can see the class. This gives you the opportunity to build the
class before your students begin using it. In order to make the class
AVAILABLE, you must do so in the Control Panel:
> CONTROL PANEL > SETTINGS > COURSE AVAILABILITY

From your course's Control Panel screen, find the link for "Settings" (under
Course Options)
Click the "Settings" link
On the next page (Settings, find the link for "Course Availability" and
click it.
Change "Make Course Available:" to "Yes"
Click Submit.
The course is now AVAILABLE.

Please do not make your course available until you are ready for students to
see the class.
