The Annenberg/Corporation for Public Broadcasting Channel is premiering
"Connecting with the Arts," it's latest professional development series
about arts education. The eight video programs and accompanying website were
produced by Lavine Production Group (New York) in collaboration the Center
for Children and Technology (New York), and the Southeast Center for
Education in the Arts (Chattanooga).

and view the programs live on your computer.

Educational television allows the Southeast Center to bring its services to
new audiences across the nation. "SCEA has become a national force for
change in the nation's schools due to the Annenberg/CPB educational
television series," said Dr. Donald J. Killeen, Director of the National
Arts Education Consortium. "Their work has changed the way teachers think
and teach, inspired and enabled students to achieve both in the arts and
other subjects, and influenced national educational policy."

SCEA's work focuses on how arts education and arts integration can enhance
learning and transform schools. "Our professional development programs at
workshops, in schools, and on video provide opportunities for discovery -
about education and ourselves - fostering the artistry of teaching and
nurturing the artist within each of us," said Kim Wheetley, Director of
SCEA.
