After twenty years of distinguished service as head of the Department of
Art, Professor Alan White has chosen to return to full-time teaching in the
fall.  We are conducting an internal search to identify his successor.  The
position announcement below is made available to the campus as part of that
process.

INTERNAL SEARCH


The Department of Art seeks a Department Head with a terminal degree in Art
(M.F.A. or Ph.D.), a strong record of scholarly or artistic productivity,
excellent teaching skills, and demonstrated ability to lead and manage
collaborative artistic and academic endeavors.  Only current full-time UTC
faculty may be considered.  Please send nominations or applications (letter

of applications will begin February 16 and continue until the position is
filled.  The appointment will begin August 1, 2004.  The University of
