It's time to be creative!

Just talked to Nikki Estes at Southarts and it looks like we've got $2k in
support of making sure everyone attends the winter booking meeting. Our
original proposal to SouthArts was to cover every attendee's registration
fee of $65 and then take what's left over and divide it among the
participants to help with travel expenses. However, we have some freedom in
that regard as long as we tell SouthArts how we're using the money. $2000
has to be spent on getting folks to the conference. Nikki thinks, and I'm in
agreement with this, that our guiding principle should be to make sure that
folks who have travel restrictions get the support they need to attend in
spite of those restrictions and then use the remaining money to defray
whatever meeting/travel expenses we can for everyone attending. Otherwise,
we just get the same 20 of us at the meeting and it costs each of us less to
attend.

Normally, I'd bounce this off the board and then we'd make a decision but in
this case, I'm looking for ideas and the more the merrier. The goal here is
100% participation from all venues. Whether a venue sends more than one
person matters not - it's 100% of the venues. Now, that ain't gonna happen
unless Harry sends someone from Tennessee Valley Theatre, 'cause he's out of
the country that week, but you get the idea.

So my question is - what is your best idea for using $2000 to make sure
everyone but Harry is in Dickson on January 30. The board will make the
final decision from among your suggestions. Everyone's going to get
something, but I'm looking for ideas that will get everyone there, whether
everyone gets the same amount of support or not. I need your ideas by Monday
afternoon.

Oh, and so far, 8 of you have responded about attending. Let me know your
plans!

Thanks in advance,

Bob
