I am one of the people that Bob is talking about and I am very
interested in finding new entertainers for my free, family oriented
summer concerts and festivals in the low end of the price range.

Hey Everyone,

I'm assuming from the silence that your seasons are progressing well
this year and you're getting next season in place. If you've hit a
snag,
please be sure to speak up! We might be of help...that's what we're
here for!

In the meantime, I've had one of my periodic epiphanies and wanted to
share it with you.

It strikes me that among the alliances we are trying to foster among
ourselves, we need to look into a way to really develop an active
working group for those presenters who do a lot of their programming
in
the summer. I noticed that a lot of us were focusing on our
traditional
(fall/winter/spring) seasons at the November booking conference and we
may be missing some opportunities by not knowing more about who among
us
may program in the summer as well.

I'm sure this is a subcategory that cuts across all sizes of
presenters,
so I'd like us to identify ourselves and then we'll see if we can make
sure that this group finds a way to more adequately represent itself
in
future efforts.

Accordingly, if you program in the summer like Riverbend, Metro Parks,
the Levitt folks, or Chattanooga Downtown Partnership, speak up and
let
everyone know. Likewise, if you know of someone who is not already a
member who programs in the summer, pass on their contact information
to
me and I'll try to get them signed on and working with us. I'll
compile
the list from your responses here.

Once we have identified everyone who programs for the summer, I'd like
to find a point person to insure that this group is periodically
conversing and working to arrange some blocks through the summer
months.
If anyone is interested in taking on that responsibility (remember -
it
helps you in the long run), let us know as well.

And don't think that because you're budget might be smaller, you can't
possibly work with the big folks. You'd be amazed at what Riverbend
folks pay for some of the acts that are on their side stages - which
means there could be opportunities for you around that same time in
June
every summer to pick up some fabulous entertainers at very, very
reasonable prices.

So step right up! Let us know of your summer plans and needs and let's
get talking about this! All you have to do is reply to this e-mail and
let us know you're out there.

Cheers,

Bob
