...the Tennessee Presenters winter booking conference, that is. Fun!
Frivolity! Money to Be Saved! Bob to be a smart-ass! Christi to be
confused! All for the price of a regular registration!

As you'll recall, back in November we scheduled this meeting for
Monday, January 30, so Monday, January 30, it is. Hosted by the nice
folks at The Renaissance Center in Dickson, TN, site of Rich Boyd's
infamous "presenters last stand" in 2005, the meeting is scheduled to
get under way at 9 am with a 1 hour board meeting (everyone is welcome
but if you're not on the board, you can use the extra hour for drive
time).

The board meeting will be followed immediately with the booking
meeting at 10. Coffee, juice and danish, etc. will be available at 9
am, and lunch will be served around 12:30 with an eye towards wrapping
up by 3 pm or so. Directions to the Renaissance Center can be found
here:

If anyone decides to come in on Sunday, Bob Kucher says they have a
good relationship with the Comfort Inn but since this is mostly a day
trip for everyone, you'll need to call on your own as I don't think we
would have enough folks to warrant talking to them about a block of
rooms. If enough folks speak up about it, though, I'll be glad to call
them. I, for one, will probably spend Sunday evening there so I can
get to the center as early as possible Monday. It's located on the
same road as the Renaissance Center, down at the I-40 interchange.
Info on the Comfort Inn is here:

One thing we need to do as soon as possible is give the Renaissance
folks a head count; their caterer requires a two week notice, so the
sooner I know how many folks are attending, the easier it will make
things on them.

And for you agents and artists... now would be a good time to make
sure all of us presenter-types remember who you are or who you
represent. Use the listserve - post up your information! If you know
some of us are working on blocks, it would be a good time to contact
us directly, as well. (Off-list, please. We're trying to protect your
confidentiality.)

So, presenters, let me know as soon as you can about your attendance.
We applied for a $2000 SouthArts grant to cover some travel or
conference costs to help everyone, but I've not yet heard if we got
the funding. I'll let you know about financial information later this
week. If we don't get any funding (which I highly doubt), the usual
$65 registration fee will apply. But like I said, I'll let you know as
soon as I can find out something from Nikki and, hopefully, we'll be
in a position to discuss how best to spend the funds to support your
travel and registration costs.

Look forward to seeing you at the end of the month! All ya'll (that's
the plural of ya'll for any non-southerners) that are headed to the
big apple for APAP stay warm and drink a few for me!

Thanks in advance,

Bob
