Stephen & Michael,

I hear you and your concerns, but know that the real benefit of a listserv to presenters, and ultimately artists, is that we can keep up with what our neighbors are doing and hopefully add to bookings in a way that make sense for all involved. If we get in the habit of only emailing one or two other people about a possible booking, we lose the potential of booking someone we may not have even had on our radar. And, if there are not enough bookings to make the money work for both artist and presenter, then everyone loses.

So perhaps we need a listserv that is strictly presenters. I fear this will make some feel out of the loop who enjoy the benefit of knowing what presenters are considering feel out of the loop. But if we have an issue, we don't want people to feel unheard.

I hope this quick explanation helps everyone understand the importance of a listserv of this nature to presenters and doing business in the best way possible. I am hopeful we will not have people move to individual emails.

I have to say I agree with the suggestion about the listserv... I find it very tedious to receive/see every single email from everyone back and forth. I would prefer that responses to a listserv message be directed to the originator of the email. I think it’s a more efficient use of persons’ time. I remember last year at some point when we kept getting messages about folks menu choices at a meeting.

Made me hungry.

HI Everyone. I just want to say that from my perspective as an artist/member of this wonderful organization it would seem to make more sense if people contacted each other individually using their own personal email accounts - instead of using the server account - when discussing specific bookings with individual member presenters. Seems to make more sense to contact people individually and leave this forum for more general booking requests? Am I alone in feeling this way? Please let me know.

When I received the last email about the Birmingham Theatre for a second I thought they were contacting me about performing there? It was very confusing!!

Thanks
