Hi folks,

Thought I would turn to my friends at a time of not-quite-and-hopefully-never-need, but potential need anyway. Or consider that I’m channeling my inner boy scout from 40 some-odd years ago.

Those of you in a position to make the comparison, would you be so kind as to send me a Word document complete with letterhead graphics that I can print out (only if needed) or, more likely, from which I can lift a couple of quotes, that would say something to the effect that though we (The Patten Performances) be small, we have programming quality on a level with major university’s performing arts offerings or some such. I’m coordinating a response to a request from the Provost’s office justifying continued foundation support for the Patten here at the old learnin’ factory and want to get at not only student and community engagement, but at the quality level we bring to Chattanooga and how that compares to much larger institutions in much larger cities -and what that means in terms of positive community engagement.

I’m going on the offensive and want to use the report to actually justify an increase in support for the series and comments regarding the quality level of the series from industry experts (read: you) will help tremendously. Of course, if things do go south, I’ll have the letters for use as well.

I’m sending this to the entire list as not only are our member presenters in the know but our member agents who work nationwide are in a unique position to assess the quality of various series and can speak to that as well.

So without further ado, please and thanks in advance. I’m trying to get everything done in the next couple of weeks. The responses aren’t due until November or later, but I figure it can’t hurt to be first in line, especially if we’re asking for more money and not just “please let us survive another year”. I’ve had it with that crap.

Call me if you have any questions. Thanks so much in advance.

Regards,

Bob
