Hi folks,

Happy weekend! May your team win AND beat the spread...

Just a couple of items here before we meet in Nashville this week. I've attached the annual three documents to this message for everyone to use as they see fit, but particularly our less experienced members. The first, is of course, the guide to working a conference like PAE, the second is Stephen Barefoot's excellent Guide to Being a Blockhead. They serve as our annual reminders of what we're about. I hope they are of service to you.

Also, I'm attaching something I found handy early on in my career - a description of the Patten Performances, which I printed out and took to my first couple of PAE conferences. It's a good way to direct the conversations with agents you're talking to so feel free to adapt it to your own series/venue as you see fit.

Anyway, happy hunting! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone Tuesday morning at 10:30, Room 106 in the convention center. Agents - feel free to drop in as possible. I know NCPC is drawing names from the hat for your three minutes of glory; don't worry about it, just come on in when you can and we'll make room for your pitch. Ron - don't forget, there's the chance I may be a few minutes late Tuesday morning.

Presenter (and board) members - don't forget to mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 30 for our fall booking conference at Sewanee.

See everyone Tuesday. Have one for me Monday night.

Bob
