Greetings to the list from a new member residing in Memphis, TN.  My name is
Michael Jefry Stevens and I am a jazz pianist/composer and educator
currently living in Memphis, TN for the past 5 years.  I am a native New
Yorker and moved to Memphis in 2002 by way of marriage (my wife, Tina Barr,
is a poet and directs the creative writing department at Rhodes College).  I
performed at the first TN presenters conference in Dickson with Nashville
guitarist Pat Bergeson.  I had planned to attend last year's conference but
had to cancel last minute due to my wife's pneumonia.  Through my
performance and attendance at the first conference I met Ron Jewel (director
of Bartlett Performance Arts Center) which directly led to a performance of
my jazz duo with vibraphonist Dick Sisto at BPAC.   I also met Buster Irvin
(Cumberland County Playhouse) and performed with my NYC jazz piano trio at
the playhouse two years ago.  Both concerts were fantastic experiences in
every way!!  I have upcoming performances with my jazz piano trio (Stevens,
Siegel & Ferguson Trio) this coming January in Tullahoma, TN at the South
Jackson Civic Center as well as here in Memphis.  The trio will be touring
TN between January 18 and 28 (2008).  If anyone on the list is interested in
presenting this jazz piano trio in concert please let me know.  I can send

I want to thank everyone involved in this list.  I am happy and grateful to
be an artist member and look forward to making many new friends over the
