Mika,

Note the word "relatively" in my post. 60% seems pretty good in terms
of bombing out of German cities in WW II. As against, inter alia, in
no particular order, Berlin, Hamburg and, the big one, Dresden. Yes I
know, and I'll emphasise in spite of the "inter alia", there were many others.

Dresden, was, relatively, firebombed out 100%. For no practical
purpose whatsoever and, today, it would be a War Crime par excellence.

I fear that you are getting emotional, having read what else you wrote
in this latest SE digest.

I have no problem with that, we all do it and I largely agree (but not
entirely) with what you said. It's sad that the anglophones really
have little to no idea of how, say, the europhiles consider the same
question. Leave alone thoe in the East, motly without the instant news
gratification that we "enjoy".

We all feel emotional about what is happening at this time. I
actually, against everything that I usually hold dear, wrote to my
Address Book my own views on this subject (some here received this
post) and, for the record, I am still against this attack on a foreign
country, if only because the US really should have enough muscle to
"persuade" the UN to fix the problem.

By the same token I consider that Saddam Hussein is at least on a par
with Hitler and Stalin.

Enough, that's it, I'm outta here.

Cheers,

Christian
