On the subject of testing new equipment, I tried out a new set of Apollo's
Bio-fins during yesterday's dive.

The first pair of bio-fins that I tried when they first came onto the market
didn't do a great deal for me. I found them a little too light on the feet
and they didn't seem to suit my finning style. The new pair still retain
the split-fin characteristics, size and shape of the original but are made
of a more rigid and heavier rubber compound. The foot pocket was extremely
comfortable: I actually felt as though I was wearing fins - the light
weight of the originals was, for me, a little disconcerting - and they
readily lent themselves to the full range of finning and kicking styles.

Best of all they were silver that complemented the sleek black of my lycra
suit!! :-)

I also notice that TUSA have just released a new split fin. Has anyone
tried these out yet?
