Dear NEDS et al,
According to Sean Van Sommeran of the PSRF, Leni Riefenstahl, who did the
fantastic photo works with Africa's Masai tribesmen and who fell in with
some evil politicians well before that after a career as a dancer, model,
actress, and director, died in her sleep Monday evening. I believe that
she was still leading photographic diving expeditions even though she still
suffered from injuries she sustained when she crashed her helicopter in
2000, so if anyone is signed up for one of these, it may be time to seek a
refund. Despite serious errors in political judgment, she was one hell of
a woman, and ignoring her efforts in the service of an evil regime, she
did produce some magnificent works. It's unfortunate that a vessel filled
with such vigor and talent could embrace such a morally repugnant
philosophy: but love her for her talent or hate her for her politics, she
will be hard to forget.
DPTNST,
John
