JC,

First question - If you thought that they are all the same - Why di you
ask the bloody question in the first place---
Second - you asked about weight integrated systems and then you come
back and say 'weight belts' ...
Third, Regardless of which you are talking about - your idea is wrong...
Weight belts- although should all be the same- many divers do not follow
convention and put on in reverse fashion. This is quite simple to define
, but not as easily defined underwater in a distress situation... buckle
latch to the left (pull with right to open) cannot be guaranteed so you
need to do you predive if it is your buddy and if not (as you suggest)
open your eyes and check right to left or left to right...

With respect to your ORIGINAL question and my answer- weight integrated
systems have a large amount of variability between them and as such if
it IS your buddy- you need to find out how it works and how it dumps-
and of course if it is NOT your buddy- you need to grope around him/her
and find the dumps should you need to....
In a worst case scenario- ditch the BC and to hell with finding one, two
or more weight pouch dumps... and take them up with you...
