I've seen some truly spectacular natural light photos. There's always room
for more.

Personally, I favor the up close and personal approach in full color and
glory. I learned an interesting lesson about underwater light along time
ago. I literally spent years trying to get a good shot of a translucent
blue basket sponge that is fairly common on the deeper reefs in the Bahamas.
I never seemed to manage to get a well exposed shot of one. I mentioned the
problem to Jayna and, on one of our next dives, pointed out the sponge I
wanted to capture with my light. Much to my surprise, the light turned it a
rather bright shade of pink. Hell, I had lots of good pictures of pink
sponges, I wanted the blue one.

I do love my digital cameras, but, so far, have not taken any of them below
the surface. I bought a high end Canon video camera specifically to do that
only to find that there was no housing available for it yet. Ike would have
made a custom one, for more than I paid for the camera. There's probably
one available these days, but to tell the truth, I've moved on from my "I
want a picture" days. As nice as it is to show such things to others, I
find I enjoy the dive a lot more if I simply enjoy the dive and leave the
picture taking to others.

Good luck with OZTeK. As an organizer of some major events here in S.
Florida, I have a feel for some of what you're going through. The upside of
all the work, worry and frustration is, they almost always come out OK,
usually better than expected. I'm sure you event will too.
