It was also Bob Hambidge who replied to me.
I've got the stainless steel cam buckles too, and I'm fairly sure
they're the absolute last bit of my gear that will ever break. My only
worry with these is putting a wrinkle into an aluminum tank. It took
me a bit of time and studying photos to figure out how to thread them,
however.
