Just to show that I'm thinking about you lot on the other side of the pond -
Happy Independence Day! :-)

BTW! Did I ever tell you that I once had breakfast in the Chief's mess,
aboard the "U.S.S. Independence"? It was in the late 'sixties, in the Far
East, and I was still very naive when it came to food. Following the lead
of the Chief sitting opposite me, I ordered scrambled eggs, crispy bacon and
pancakes - and then looked around for the ketchup. The Chief asked the guy
further down the table to pass him the maple syrup and then proceeded to
pour it all over his eggs and bacon. "He's having a lend of me!" I
thought. Not to be outdone, I poured the gollop all over my breakfast - and
thoroughly enjoyed it. So much so that I wrote home to Sylvia and told her
that when I got home I'd have to introduce her to this exotic treat!

Regrettably, when writing the letter, one or two synapses must have been
suffering from over-exposure to inkahol! Instead of writing, "maple syrup",
I wrote, "molasses"! :-)

For the benefit of those who might be tempted to try scrambled eggs and
molasses sometime - don't! :-)

But all of you have a good day. (And I do mean ALL of you - even Lee, whom
I insulted terribly this week!) :-)
