I have an ichthyologist friend specialising in sharks called Richard
Martin who is based in Vancouver but happens to be an Australian and
possesses an extraordinary sensahuma, quite apart from being pretty
damn good at his game.

One of his books, actually a spiral bound booklet, that I possess is
called "Do Whales Fart? And Other Questions".

I here quote, laboriously, since I don't have a CRM (character
recognition machine), means that the typos are entirely mine:

Quote:

... Animals fart too. Other mammals, birds fishes and insects are all
known to fart. Even sharks - those masters of grace and composure -
fart. It seems no matter how good-looking and cool they are, everyone farts.

So, what about whales? Whales have come to represent a kind of
zoological Guiness Book of World Records: the longest, heaviest and
loudest animals on earth are whales. I propose that whales are due yet
another superlative among the animal kingdom: most flatulent ...

End quote.

The book is copyright but I'm sure that Rick won't mind. Especially if
I provide his details:

Rick and Anne Martin
ReefQuest Expeditions

I hope, only, that those details are still correct, they come from the book.

Cheers,

Christian
