I rarely disagree with you Bjorn, but here I do. ;-)

I believe that if that cycle had been called "Sackcloth & Ashes" or
"Watching Grass Grow", the power of Tolkien's prose would have
conquered regardless.

I'm not a lover of movies, but in the last three years I actually,
voluntarily even, went to no less than three (and no more). Yup, the Trilogy.

Twice even. Six movies in three years is decidedly a world record for me.
