Sheeeesh! Chinese don't distinguish the gender of ANYTIHNG, let
alone a fish. :-) I had a hell of a time remembering that a
French table is feminine, and had even worse a time wondering WHY!!!
Because French tables are always cracked? ;)
You're technically correct of course. But "la" rhymes with "da",
as in "da Feeesh". But did you know ...
œil de poisson fish eye
œufs de poisson fish eggs
œufs de poisson nmpl roe
écaille de poisson fish scale
en forme de poisson fish-shaped
et du poisson and fish
farine de poisson fish meal
frire du poisson fish fry
la tortue marine au poisson green turtle !!!
le poisson volant the Flying Fish
manger du poisson fish-eating
pain et poisson loaves and fishes
peau de poisson fish-skin
petit poisson d'argent silver fish
poisson blanc nm whitefish
poisson bleu blue-fish
poisson d'avril April fool !!!
Would a female "April fool" be masculine or feminine?
