The internet HAS GROWN. The LISTSERV Digests are a thing of
the past, listserv dinasaurs of sorts. For accuracy of knowing
who said what to whom and reference to posts in general, I have
campaign for MONTHS for everyone to use the WEBPAGE archives to
read Scuba-SE. You can post and reply directly from it too.

Go to the webpage

http://raven.utc.edu/Archives/scuba-se.html

If you want to read CURRENT posts in the order they are posted,
click "Search the Archives", and put in the "Since" box the
word "today" and you'll get all the posts TODAY (Trumpetfish
time -- aka EST); or "13 April" if you want all the posts
    since 13 April, US EST.

Hope you can make it. See below.

But you can find out the EXACT date NOW, can't you? :-) Our
university calendar of main events have these listed years in
advance.

I'll email you, John, a copy of this (so you can read from the
webpage archives).

Let's do a bit of determinstic and probabilistic calculations here:

John's graduation is usually June 6-10. CAIV02NEDfest June 8-15.

So the probability of a conflict of dates is AT MOST 3/8, for
June 8-10. June 8 is just boarding the boat after 2 pm and drink
beer the rest of the day. :-) June 9 is diving in Grand Cayman
and USUALLY depart at night to arrive Little Cayman on June 10.
So, the worst case senario for John would be to take a flight
DIRECTLY to Little Cayman, and Crusty and others can drink his
beer for him until then.

The only Mexican spoken on the CAIV is probably taquila and khalua.
But the English spoken will be the USA variety which will definitely
be foreign to the Brits and Aussies. :-) As for sign language,
to the best of my knowledge, most of those who have already signed
up for the CAIV02NEDfest are perfectly CAPABLE of signing with
their middle fingers, when suitably motivated. :-))

Just returned from Trumpetfish country, where the Trumpetfish (Jeff)
and I saw the 3-D IMAX film on Galapagos, and I pointed out to Jeff
the sights and close-up scenes Crusty couldn't POSSIBLY have seen
when he spent two weeks diving and land-grubbing in Galapagos,
because Crusty was skeptical when I first mentioned it. :-)
