So we've gone from "bowing to my superior knowledge" and calling
me "simply ignorant" to hare-splitting now (just to give English
major M.A. something to display his expertise ;-)

The "As Far As I Know" is an irrelevant disclaimer in the context
you have cited.  When you made a serious of derogative statements
and then a statement intended as a FACT, that was a CLAIM.  How
else can you claim beyond what you know?

I am crushed!  OTOH, the day you'll stop twisting and nitpicking
