Hi Carl,

I'll second the recommendation for Canon as an inexpensive rout for the
UW photo amateur such as my self. If you want to see some pix taken
with the s300 and its corresponding housing go to
http://www.rbdg.com/reb/dive/Coz7-01/index.htm All of these are either
natural light or with the internal flash. I have lots more but haven't
been able to find time to post them.

It just so happens that, through a long series of FU's, I wound up with
an *extra* Canon s300 housing. Since I recently upgraded to the s400
and my daughter now has an s330 and housing, I would let the extra s300
housing go for a song. It even has a DIR-approved bolt snap properly
attached w/ cave line. :-) If your interested and want to go shopping
for a used "Canon s300 camera" on Ebay, let me know.

Regardless, there is currently not a higher quality, less expensive
camera/housing combination available than the range of offerings from
Canon. It is perfect for a beginner. The housing is rated to 100 feet,
but the divers in the pic that I was underneath when I tool the shot
http://www.rbdg.com/reb/dive/Coz7-01/pages/Coz7-01-043.htm were
"somewhere below" recreational depth. Suffice to say the depth ratings
appear to be conservative.

I believe there are a few others that dive this camera config on the
list. Perhaps they can weigh in.

Best regards,
Russ
