Sorry for such short responses, but I have had rare and brief moments to do e-mail, because the internet at the fort is very fickle lately. Today is the first time in a month that it has worked. And in Key West.... Anyway, H. Ivan was heading directly toward the Tortugas yesterday, and today it went a bit west. So at the moment it seems to be heading west of the Tortugas. But, it will likely make another zig, so it could still go anywhere in the area. It's an exciting hurricane, (category 5, the most powerful) and I hope it comes directly to the Tortugas - not that I want disaster. I hope to get some good video of this one!!! :-))

After H. Frances pounded your area for a few days, I would think that any hurricane should spook you, Lee!!! :-)) Best of luck to us all!!!! ...and thanks for the offer of shelter, but I'm basicly required to be at the Tortugas for this. I know it sounds crazy, but that's how it is.

Yeeehaww!!!! ...Brad

If you don't get hit, I probably will. Since you're in a fort and I'm not,
I'll wish you both good and bad luck. I think the present forecast has Ivan
moving across Cuba and up the west coast of Florida to about Tampa. It's
expected to be significantly diminished before it gets there . . . we hope.
If it follows the projected path, you and I should be fine.

Most projections have the hurricane passing close to, if not over the Keys.
They requested all non residents to evacuate today and they begin
"mandatory" evacuation of residents tomorrow. It seems mandatory does not
really mean mandatory, but most people in the Keys know how serious any
hurricane can be and know that a category 5 is not just any hurricane.

I've been through a lot of hurricanes and have never had shutters before.
This afternoon, I purchased them for delivery tomorrow. I don't know why
this hurricane spooks me, but it does.

Lee
