The neighbors in my neighborhood tend to frown on shooting animals of
any kind, even the ones that prey upon and eat their pets. They'd
rather have someone else poison or trap them. Frankly, a 25cent bullet
is certainly the cheapest and probably the most humane way to deal with
these critters. But, the big 'BOOM' from a fire arm is not the best
employment of stealth technique for 'Crusty's local militia'. :-)
From inaction by those 'generally in charge of these things', the
number of coyotes have grown to far exceed their natural food supply
(rabbits) in the golf course area where they live. Now, to feed their
spring litter of pups, they have taken to ranging through the adjacent
neighborhoods, often in broad daylight, in search of easy 'Fifi the
poodle' type prey.
Geeeez, a 70# bow...that's gotta make a mark! :-)
