I'm unsure whether this is the first time that Mika has used this
"nickname" and I couldn't be bothered to go and search it.

Mika, seems to me, has a history of using nicknames some of which,
almost inevitably because of his background, are often difficult for
English speakers.

Ikan however strikes a chord, at least with me. There was once a
mostly German association of u/w photo professionals who teamed
together and created the "Ikan" website.

Today a Googlesearch (can I claim that as a word?) leads to
<http://www.born2dive.net/books/index.asp>.

Helmut Debelius is not to be sneezed at and he was one of the originals.

Cheers,

Christian
