I finally have some time to report on the dives I did on my trip over the 4th. Lets start with Vortex. Nice place, ran into a nice guy named booger and his friend bubba. The visibility was about 50'. The real cave was really nice. I did not go past the grim reaper(sign blocking the point at which you are 15' away from the opening that you drop through to get to the cave) as I am not cave certified. You basically drop through a hole in the floor to get to the cave. Lots of fish and nice and cool for the summer time (68). Bring bug spray and a lunch since there is not much in the way of restaurants near the springs. Overall, a nice two dive site. Past two dives, you will be bored.

Pensacola was not as fun however. I dove from beach on the gulf side of pensacola beach. Visibility was horrible (10-15') because of the seaweed and algae. Normally the visibility hovers around 40', but I guess I hit it at a bad time. My dive lasted 6 minutes and had a max depth of 10'. I did not have time to try and get a boat dive although I have been on them before out in the gulf and the dives make for good day trips.
