To me, the difference is that one makes you stupid slowly which can get you
killed quickly.  The other just kills you quickly without the intervening
stupid period but I suppose you had to have a stupid period to get to the
toxicity point didn't you?

Ever read The Terrible Hours by Peter Maas?  About Momsun and the rescue of
the crew of the Squalus.  You might find it interesting.
