The MiniB 2 is the first to offer satellite detectable EPIRB in a system
designed to withstand recreational diving pressures. Cospas-Sarsat satellite
detectable EPIRB, transmits on both 121.5 & 243.0 MHz international distress
frequencies which is also monitored by over flying commercial and military
aircraft. The EPIRB will broadcast continuously for a minimum of 48 hours at
-4(F, longer in temperate waters. Use only in situations of grave and
imminent danger. The case has been reinforced and an internal pressure brace
added to prevent water intrusion down to 200 feet. The MiniB 2 is a manually
activated EPIRB and must be above the surface of the water to transmit. It
measures 6~H x 2.6~W x 1.6~D, weighs 9.2 oz and is small enough to fit in a
BC pocket or strap to the upper shoulder of the BC. The lithium battery has a
6-year replacement life.
