I'm not sure I follow your meaning. The S2 will certainly not be cheaper
than the S1, that would be the first time in all my life of buying cameras
that a newer model came out cheaper than the immediate predecessor :-) The
Nikon D1x currently stands at 1.8 times the Fuji S1.

I am unconvinced. There was supposed to be a price advantage, but it has
certainly hidden itself well, at least here in Singapore :-) There are other
drawbacks to CMOS which will make me sit that out for a while (light
sensitivity, captured area, noise patterns, although Canon *claims* to have
addressed them all). And of course, all my lenses are Nikon or Nikon
compatible :-)

For me, price is an issue, but not the be-all-end-all. I'd rather wait until
I have the money I need to buy the best. In this case, and for my intended
use, the S1 is the best. And thank God for that, with a price differential
of 80% :-)

I think that's pretty much still the case. Everything I buy in Singapore, I
can consistently get 20% cheaper than the cheapest WWW-offering out of the
US. And things are usually available here immediately after release.
