Ahhhh, the upside down wreck, as it's mostly called, is the Hoyo Maru
and brings back certain fond, as well as not so fond, memories.

Stupid here, on a night dive no less with just one baby itty, bitty
torch, got lost in, as in IN, that one and eventually came out of a
hole near the rudder when he'd entered amidships. Stupid here was
terrified and well remembers it even though it was on 26 October '92.
Surface to surface time 37 mins 22 secs, maximum depth 29.7 metres
(97.5 ft) which is the sand as well as well as close to the deckline.
To give you an idea of size , the keel comes, or came, to within 4
metres of the surface so from deckline to bottom of hull is about 25
metres (82 ft).

I reckon that was the trip I've enjoyed more than any other, even
though I'm not at all a dedicated wreckie. Indeed, I went on a seven
day trip and extended it towards the end for another four days. In
retrospect I should have extended it even further (I still had film
left, the relatively new Fuji Velvia, then and now pretty close to the
best for u/w purposes). I gave it to the DM as a tip, he thought his
Christmases had all come at once

I'd go back tomorrow (and preferably earlier) given the chance.

Cheers,

Christian
