G'Day, Jeff! I think he meant, "bar-steward" - but calling on wot little I
do know of these things, (my very first job after being kicked out of school
was as a research assistant in the "Intelligence Department" of the Times
newspaper, that was right next door to the College of Heralds) - I'm almost
certain that a person who's a bar-steward is designated by a baton on the
coat-of-arms! :-)))
If that is the case, then I'd have batons poking out of my ears! :-)))
