Bob,

I read the original posts and, personally, think you're being a bit
sensitive regarding the posts on Scuba-L. I did not read anything in the
posts you originally responded to that I took to mean that your were hiding
behind an alias or that I considered an attack against you. This, in no way
suggests I judge or even care whether you respond to your perceptions of the
posts. I fully agree that Nick's responses to your reaction were clearly
biased and antagonistic. I don't suggest or care whether you chose to
respond to his posts either.

Having said all that, I'll get to the point. I have to agree with Michael
Levy regarding your bringing your conflict with Scuba-L posters to this
list. You have been the most outspoken regarding cross posting to both
Scuba-SE and Scuba-L and I now suggest you apply the same standards to
yourself that you have recommended to others. I'd prefer you conduct your
business with Scuba-L posters there or off line rather than here. We left
Scuba-L for reasons I consider sufficient. Once gone, I cease to be
interested in what transpires there and prefer not to be subjected to
discussions relevant only to that list.

> This IS my "extended" home of Scuba-L.

No, this IS NOT. This is not Scuba-L, extended or otherwise. This is
Scuba-SE, where those of us who chose principal over convenience came to
continue our association with one another and others who might find the list
interesting.

> Nick was the one who not only picked the fight, but forced it here by . .
.

After leaving Scuba-L, you could not leave it well enough alone. You went
there and you referred to Nick. He is at least, if not more justified in
responding to you as you were in responding to posts you considered critical
of you. When you posted on Scuba-L, Nick, once again, went overboard in his
response. However, If you'd been true to your word, and left Scuba-L
permanently, the exchange never would have happened. More to the point,
however, Nick didn't force the fight here to Scuba-SE. You brought it here.
Fight as much as you like. We're only asking that you fight where
appropriate and let us give it a rest. For most of us, it's over.

Lee
