>Is the summer rainy season (December) your favorite time to travel and
dive this area? I have a friend here who runs at least four trips to this
area every year. He travels year round to see different aspects available
at the time (eg. molas in July, etc.) His pictures of the local critters
are stunning. We want to see it in person. <

No. It is a bit wet in December. I just could not do it earlier this time.
Best time for Komodo is supposedly either May/June or September/October.

But I will do this again in the near future. Also because I'm a pessimist,
and I don't know if these sites will still be there in 5 years. Or even
next year.

>For those that were on the Fiji trip that Don Ward put together, Dave the
manager of the Kadavu resort, who made our stay there a most delightful
experience, is now manager at the iBah resort near Ubud in Bali. Perhaps
we could tap him for a special rate (which would be the only way to afford
it :-). http://www.ibahbali.com/ <<

Ubud diving would be interesting. Volcano craters? Rice terraces? Molest
the water buffaloes?
But the scenery is spectacular.
