Strike,

1) I am not unfamiliar with people's opinions, yours most definitely
included. I was well aware of your views as far as this thread (and
its offsprings) is concerned. IOW, yes I *did* read it and understand
it. Please do not consider me (entirely) stupid, as you possibly infer.

2) I believe that I have every right to comment on the post of any
other contributor, whether some, or even all, of it pertains to you
(or anyone else) or not.

In this case, because I was very well aware that I could be treading
on the toes/sensibilities of others, I carefully, VERY carefully,
wrote my caveat, my preamble (as you partly quoted above). I think it
was entirely appropriate and carefully worded as to those
sensibilities. If you disagree, please say so and show me why I was
incorrect in the way I acted. I'll appreciate the advice. :)

Whilst I certainly understand your position I do not believe that you
are entirely correct in criticising me when I make comment on
another's post even if it pertains to you, as in this case. This is a
list, please tell me if I'm wrong but as I understand it people can
post whatever opinion they wish subject only to the constraints of the
listowner. I do believe that I went to some considerable lengths
(particularly by the standards of *this* list) to try to satisfy the
possible sensitivities of both yourself and some others before I
continued that post.

Yes, I criticised the original poster as to his handling of a
situation very pertinent to yourself. I did *not* do so because you
were (to whatever extent) the subject matter. I did it, quite simply,
because I considered him wrong. Matter of fact, I still do.

Cheers,

Christian
