Brad, most of those who responded to you have never been to Ginnie Springs.
Most are not in the U.S., not even close.

Ginnie has an open water basin that's fine for anyone who can dive anywhere.
They also have cave and cavern sections that are not.  Everyone is reacting
to your intent to enter caves, even a little bit.  If you're talking about
diving the open water basin, have at it.  You'll have a great time.  If
you're talking about going further, please read the first link Bjorn
provided.  It's got some good information on the risks and why they are so
often overlooked, often with disasterous results.
