Obviously not long enough, Aldo! The ability to make fun of oneself is one
of the most fundamental building blocks of a good sense of humor. Clearly,
they didn't manage to suck it all out of you :-)

Some would say that the very act of applying to become a Swede demonstrates
an exquisite sense of humor (or at least of the absurd)...

No, that title is still up for grabs, but I'm glad to see someone is taking

Our friend Bill Bryson on Sweden in the closing paragraph of his chapter on
that country in "Neither Here Nor There:
"No wonder they have one of the highest suicide rates in the world!"
