Ah...but I've already bought a 2m hose (6'6 3/4" to you ferners :-). I
guess I'll just have to try it out.....when I get my backplate / wings /
harness - Mika, where are you ?
I am getting more and more fed up with my current BC - everything seems so
messy on it and there are only tiny little rings to clip anything to - this
is not so much a problem in warm waters but here it is a pain when trying
to stow a DRSMB and reel and torch etc. I end up looking a mess with bits
hanging everywhere.
Anyway, all this did not stop me from having some really good dives at the
weekend - water was a balmy 10DegC and the sun was even shining (OK, on the
second dive there was a hail storm so I only heard it). Did the James Egan
Lane (sp?) at last which is still an excellent wreck despite the reports
that it is rapidly disintegrating - lots of easy penetration & swim
throughs. Special bonus, only 5 people were sick en-route. Second dive was
just a rummage through kelp chasing the massive man eating sharks (OK, some
of you may know them as Dog Fish, but they are still sharks).
Second day first dive was a drop down to about 13m then sink right into a
narrow gulley that plummets down to about 30m. - quite a spectacular float
down into that with vertical sides covered in plumose anenomies and urchins
the size of footballs (which are round by the way :-), lots of sponges on
the sea bed, can't remember what they are called but they are bright
yellow. It was Zoe's 100th dive so I was taking piccies of her.
Second dive was another rummage amongst the rocks and kelp. A really good
weekends diving, not marred too much by the 200 mile return trip where I
had to stop every 20 miles and top up with water 'cos the FrogMobile
(Reanult 21 Savana)
is pissing it out !!! Still, it didn't cost me anything and I can fit my
dive gear in it, unlike the KrautMobile :-(.
Oh, and I've just realised that I am going back to hte Red Sea next month -
anyone going to be around El-Gouna from 22-29 June ?

Toodle pip, tally ho, tara, TTFN.......
