Hi Brad,

>You mean JJ used a computer!? What would G3 say?! Perhaps G3 would call JJ
a
STROKE!!!

That was in 1996. A lot of things have changed since then. WKPP deco
procedures are completely different now, to name just one aspect. The
course was done on Nitrox and computers were allowed. The longest deco dive
of the course was only to a max depth of 90ft (some shorter ones deeper),
but it was a relatively long one (for a course, not in any other respect).
Even now, "DIR" procedures are constantly changing. Nothing rigid about the
approach or philosophy or whatever you want to call it.

This is where the "opposition" actually scores the least points. On the one
hand it seems popular to accuse DIR of being a static 'religion', only to
turn around and yell: hey, but you said something else in 2001. So which is
it? Don't be so hung up on "keywords", look at what is actualy being said.

>...Did you take GUI courses for that full cave?<

That was before GUE existed. But I got fairly close to flunking the course
half-way into the Full Cave portion for screwing up really badly. Which is
when you start "hating" JJ. You surface and do the "debriefing" and he
just smiles and asks you " anyhing you should have done differently?"
Remember Steve Martin and "get small"? Didn't require smoking anything on
that occasion.
