Chuck...you'll have to post the URL. Might be kind of
interesting to have a look see.

Thing about thermoclines....you never know when they are going
to show. Case in point...a few weeks back we all decided to dive
Fairlight Cove in Sydney Harbour. Nice sort of day. All
indications pointed to 23C water temps. Giving the 5mm a miss
and opting for the 1mm, I thought it would be fine. Once in we
notice an unusual "shimmering" effect which was hampering
vizability. 2 meters down and "whoooska" easily a 5 to 6C degree
temperature plunge. Yikes! We had no idea! Needless to say, it
was uncomfortable and short.

The Manly Hydraulics Labratory measures ocean surface temps.
just off the Sydney Coast. A reading is taken 4 times a day and
posted on the web in graph form. You can have a look at:

Unfortunately its no indication of local thermoclines.
