This shaving cream-nonsense misses the point. An exploding can of shaving
cream can not bring down an aircraft. An exploding tank can. Like Chuck
says, there are no grey areas for security personnel, and there shouldn't
be.

Think about it: So it's a scuba tank. Big deal. Does that guarantee that it
contains air ? Or perhaps something more lethal ? Does the fact that the
valve is off guarantee that there is not a clever tank-within-a-tank inside
? Is it fair to ask security personnel to make that call ? Call the airline
and find out if there is a way to check it in, if it means that much.

People like myself, who make a living from traveling a lot, appreciate the
new restrictions. In fact, many are not even new to us, only to the US.
Think about what the previous "security" restrictions cost you and the
world, then consider how much time you think it is reasonable for the world
to spend on your pony bottle.

Bjorn
