I have rather strong views regarding Mike Ball's dive operation, as

Hmmmmmmm. Strike will no doubt correct me on this but, AIUI, the Mike
Ball operation is now largely. if not 100%, owned by Japanese
interests and Mike Ball himself is not much more than a figurehead.

So, the Japanese are ripping off their own?

Moreover, I strongly suspect that such a practice is seriously illegal
in this country, although I do acknowledge that Queensland seems to be
a country unto itself. ;-)
