The pole is in three parts that are detachable, with an elastic bungee cord
running through it. The poles are folded then the flag wrapped round and
secured with press studs that are affixed to the flag. You need to put a
bit of silicone grease on the press studs otherwise they can be a bugger to
undo when they are new.

I deco on air so don't use this method - not sure I can be bothered to get
that much into technical diving and do accelerated deco.
